Construction Site & Facility Development
Coastal Carolina Regional Airport has approximately 200 acres of on-airport land to develop into additional business enterprises for both aeronautical and non-aeronautical use.
Non-Aerospace Development
There is a 25.3-acre site located on the Airport near the intersection of Old Airport Road and Airport Road in New Bern. It is less than one-half mile from the future I-42. Municipal water, sewer, and electricity are provided by the City of New Bern and those services are available along Old Airport Road adjacent to the site. Additional amenities include a fiber optic cable running along the road and a Federal Express shipping terminal less than one-half mile away. This parcel is a high-quality development site conveniently located in the heart of Craven County along the busy Highway 70 Corridor. It has fantastic access and meets all the requirements for commercial development and light industrial facilities.
Aerospace Development
This year, Gov. Josh Stein signed House Bill 358, appropriating $10.4 million in state funds to support aerospace infrastructure development at Coastal Carolina Regional Airport (EWN). The investment will help EWN advance its plans to attract aviation and aerospace companies to the region through site improvements and expanded operational capacity. Roughly 90 acres of airport property have been set aside for commercial aerospace use. Construction and planning are already underway, including completed access roads and utility connections that pave the way for new tenants. The new development site will support a range of aerospace activities, including manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), flight operations and testing. Positioned along the airport’s primary runway, the site can accommodate both civil and military aircraft, offering an operational base in eastern North Carolina. Read the full article.
